Strata Energy Awards Scholarships to Crook County High School Graduates

Strata Energy, Inc. is pleased to announce the award of two scholarships to Crook County high school graduates.

Strata Energy Community Energy Scholarship Cort Ingalls

Strata CEO Ralph Knode provides a tour of the Ross Central Processing Plant to Cort Ingalls, recipient of the 2018 Community Energy Scholarship.

Cort Ingalls of Beulah is the fourth Crook County student to be awarded Strata’s Community Energy Scholarship. This scholarship provides eligible recipients with $2,000 per academic year for up to four years of academic study geared toward careers in the mineral industry and related fields. Cort says he has wanted to become an engineer since 6th grade, and his GPA of 3.96, college coursework, and internships during his time at Sundance Secondary will certainly take him a long way toward that goal. Cort will attend the University of Wyoming this fall, studying Mechanical Engineering.

Strata will award the Community Energy scholarship to one new recipient per year, ramping up to an ongoing commitment to help up to four students at any given time in realizing academic success.

Brandon Clonch of Moorcroft has been selected as the first recipient of Strata’s new Opportunity Scholarship, a $500 award for general education and trade programs. Brandon will be studying Business Administration at the University of Wyoming this fall. Brandon graduated from Moorcroft High School with a 3.7 GPA and 58 college credit hours – nearly enough for his Associate degree. Brandon is also a multi-sport athlete and a musician, and he plans to turn his musical talents and business interests into a career in the music industry.

Strata will begin accepting scholarship applications for the 2018 awards in February 2018. Strata would like to thank all students who submitted applications for this year’s award.

Strata Energy, Crook County Partner to Improve Road Safety, Quality

Strata Energy is pleased to announce a recent partnership with Crook County to upgrade 5.5 miles of county roads from shale to crushed red rock. These upgrades improve safety of the roads for local residents, Strata employees and contractors, as well as decrease dust produced by traffic. Completion of this work is in accordance with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the two parties in August 2013.

Through this partnership, Strata and Crook County upgraded approximately 4 miles of New Haven Road from Cabin Creek to D Road, and approximately 1.5 miles of the Oshoto Road from New Haven to D Road. Strata provided up-front engineering services, assisted with construction oversight, and contributed $100,000 in crushed rock. Strata also donated 2 acre feet of water to aid in compaction of the new material. In conducting the upgrades, Crook County hired a contractor to pull the shoulders of the road to a consistent width, then placed and compacted the crushed rock.

In addition to the upgrades, Strata continues to work with Crook County through the 2013 MOU to provide dust control on roads regularly utilized by Strata employees and contractors.
Strata recently commenced operations at the Ross Uranium Mine near Oshoto.

Strata Energy Awards Scholarship to Moorcroft High School Senior

Savanah Richter 2015-2

Strata CEO Ralph Knode presents the 2015 Community Energy Scholarship to Savannah Richter of Moorcroft.

Strata Energy, Inc. (Strata) is pleased to announce the award of the 2015 Strata Community Energy Scholarship to Ms. Savanah Richter of Moorcroft High School. Ms. Richter will be enrolling as a Chemical Engineering major at the University of Wyoming in the fall of 2015. As the scholarship recipient, Ms. Richter will receive $2,000 per academic year for up to four years.

Selection of the scholarship winner was based upon the applicants’ academic record, SAT/ACT scores, and essays regarding the applicant’s personal accomplishments and interest in the uranium or nuclear industries.
The scholarship was created as an outgrowth of Strata’s “Community Energy” philosophy. A core belief of this philosophy is that a partnership is implicitly created with the communities in which we operate. As one measure to foster this partnership, Strata created the scholarship to provide opportunities for young people within these communities to pursue educational success. Strata will award the scholarship each year to one student graduating from a Crook County high school or accredited home-school program. Strata will begin accepting applications for the 2016 award in February 2016.
