REPORTS TO: Construction Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Field position responsible for construction and installation of surface facilities and wellfields for the extraction of uranium and reclaiming areas of disturbance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Constructing header houses components and parts, swabbing and installing pumps and motors in well fields.
  • Install metering equipment components.
  • Fabricate sub-assemblies and assemblies.
  • Install cables and distribution piping.
  • Build headers templates, fuse polypipe.
  • Lead small groups to perform the above.
  • Assemble most of the above into a producing wellfield.

Be task trained and proficient on the following tools, equipment and procedures:

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to deal with vendors in the specification and ordering of basic construction materials.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to develop materials lists from basic construction drawings and P&ID’s. Ability to relate inventory to current project needs and develop construction materials lists.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A valid class “A” driver’s license is required.
