Job Title:          Cleaner

FLSA Status:    Part-Time (20 Hours per Week)/ Hourly/Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

The Cleaner is responsible for cleaning offices and common areas in the administration building, geology trailers, and central processing plant.  The Cleaner is tasked with cleaning, stocking, and supplying restrooms and performing routine inspections of facilities. The Cleaner should promptly notify management of any deficiencies, safety issues or needed repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Remove waste and empty trash
  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming
  • Dust
  • Shake and vacuum rugs
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Clean break rooms and conference rooms
  • Sweep entryways
  • Clean windows and mirrors
  • Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies
  • Organize janitorial storage area
  • Seasonal heavy cleaning and special projects as needed
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets
  • Participate in mine site safety program, complete required annual trainings and follow health and safety procedures and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To qualify for this position an individual must possess the ability to work independently, have a high degree of integrity and an attention to detail.  This individual must be able to do physical work and be familiar with equipment normally used in janitorial operations.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Prior janitorial experience preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret written information; ability to write clear statements; ability to communicate orally.
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor.

 

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism
  • Must be able to manage time efficiently and to work individually as well as within a team

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

A valid driver’s license is required.

Work is primarily performed in a field office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to hazards typically associated with a uranium ISR plant facility which includes the potential presence of low levels of radioactive materials and radiation, low to moderate noise levels, moving equipment, slips on wet surfaces, and trips related to uneven ground and facility equipment and materials.  Work is occasionally done outdoors and the employee can be exposed to inclement weather including cold, hot, snow, rain, mud, etc.  The employee may occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Support roles and responsibilities as described in the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) and participate in EMS and QMS functions as assigned.
