SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the operation of a truck mounted mechanical integrity testing (MIT) unit that is used for testing the casing of wells at the ISR wellfields to ensure that the wells are properly constructed and do not contain any leaks (hence “integrity”). This includes, but is not limited to, removing wellheads and ancillary equipment from wells to permit MIT testing, completing MIT tests with downhole equipment, recording data, and operating a truck mounted MIT unit, water truck, trailers etc. A strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Safely operate truck mounted MIT units and associated support equipment (trailers, water trucks) at ISR wellfields to test the integrity of well casing.
  • Complete required records to meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect and maintain MIT units and associated support equipment to company standards.
  • Complete minor repairs to MIT units, associated support equipment, and wellheads.
  • Operate a pickup truck on company premises as necessary.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety and environmental protection.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this position an individual must be knowledgeable of basic water or oil well servicing activities and have a willingness to learn and follow company procedures for the safe and efficient operation of MIT units and associated support equipment at uranium ISR wellfields. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured by the company.
  • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with supervisor, other operators, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to read and write and perform basic math including multiplication and division.
  • Experience working with MIT or pulling units and/or water or oil well service type activities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and correct malfunctions of equipment.
  • Operate computer-based tablet.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma.
  • Experience working with pulling units and/or water or oil well service type activities and equipment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, company procedures, and memos.
  • Ability to write and maintain records.

MATHEMATICAL/COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Operate computer-based tablet

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A valid class “C” driver’s license is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to hazards typically associated with a uranium ISR facility which includes the presence of low levels of radioactive materials and radiation, low to moderate noises levels, moving equipment, slips on wet surfaces, and trips related to uneven ground and facility equipment. The work is generally outdoors and the employee can be exposed to inclement weather including cold, hot, snow, rain, mud etc.
